DESCRIPTION: Japy Freres, Paris, France, figural mantel clock, 8 days, time and strike, spring driven movement in a slate and brass topped and banded case with additional brass trim and surmounted by troubadour cradling his lyre with cream enamel dial.
CONDITION: the case is in very good condition with little gilding remaining and only a couple of small chips in the slate on the right side. The figure is screw mounted to the top, but the screws are absent. The movement ticks and strikes but has not been fully tested and the bell is a replacement. This large, heavy and very fancy clock is in excellent condition and has a lot of eye appeal.
